From October 1-2, 2025 representatives from all 12 participating MWPSC institutions came together at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL for our 2025 Fall Meeting. During our time in the windy city, we discussed current study and consortium progress as well as plans for our future initiatives. After a full day of meeting on Day 1, we ended the night with a private dinner cruise aboard Chicago’s First Lady accompanied by breathtaking views of downtown Chicago. The evening offered a welcome opportunity to step away from the day’s discussions and enjoy meaningful connection with colleagues from across institutions. The relaxed setting served as a reminder that our shared commitment to advancing pediatric surgical care extends beyond research and clinical work—it's also built on the relationships that sustain and inspire our community.

Day 2 wrapped up with excitement and momentum as we determined our two newest collaborative projects:

“Improving Success Rate of Enema Reduction for Intussusception” lead by Dr. Loren Berman
“Outcomes following non-operative management for complicated appendicitis – role for interval appendectomy” lead by Dr. Jason Sulkowski

These teams will begin working to finalize their study materials and distribute to consortium members for activation.
